The Effects Model/The Hypodermic Model

The Hypodermic mode is an audience theory which assumes that audience is passive and will change their minds by being injected media. Evidence of the theory can be shown in "The Interview".
The Frankfurt school came up with this theory by investigating through propaganda used during the world war 1.
This poster represents "anti jews" and portrays Jews as violent and devilish.

This theory is still relevant today because people blame video games for violence undertaken by criminals.  Also advertising tries to inject ideas about the product - eg. Red Bull sponsors extreme sport to make people believe that they can aspire to be like that.

Also an experiment called "The Bobo Doll experiment".
This is a very controversial piece of research that apparently proved that children copy violent behaviour.
